For some time I was posting random blogs on the subject of Irish Soda Bread and Irish Traditions in general but when I moved service providers, it was locked down.
So, now that things have stabilized, I am beginning the blog again just before St. Patrick's Day 2010.

I just discovered the Society and the blog as I lost my long standing Irish Soda bread recipe, source New York Times about 40 to 50 years ago. To my amazement when I googled Irish Soda Bread, I learned what I've been baking and championing for many years is cake not bread. Mea culpa,forgive me great great grandparents or whoever are my ancestors! Now I will be exact in naming what comes from my oven with the word Irish describing it. Thank you so much for my grand discovery as I gather my wits to make a loaf of Irish Soda Cake (cranberries and caraway) for our Thanksgiving feast this coming week. Maybe for Christmas I will morph my recipe into Irish Christmas Cookies!
